An 1888 Southern Pacific narrow gauge boxcar is brought to life
On September 21, 2011, the Historical Society of Dayton Valley brought a narrow gauge boxcar “home” to complement our rebuilt 1881 Carson & Colorado depot.
In the winter of 2021, local volunteers, Gene Kinney, Gary and Lisa Myers, John Crowley and Stony Tennant, sheltered the burnt side of the boxcar with a heavy-duty vinyl cover to avoid further damage recently. The job was finished just when it began to snow!
