The wrought-iron jail cells were purchased by mail order in the 1860s and were relocated to the back of the firehouse after the 1909 courthouse fire. In use until 1966, these cells make a great picture op today!

Dayton Cemetery, established about 1851 ‘at the foot of the hill’ below where it is today. The cemetery was moved to the top of the hill around the time of the floods of 1861-62. Nevada State Historical Marker #233.
