St. Ann's Chapel

Dayton’s Historic St. Ann’s Chapel

At this time the HSDV is in the process of restoring the 1937 building that moved to Dayton from Yerington because the Dayton Catholics had to go to Virginia City to attend church. Residents at that time donated a few dollars at a time to raise the money to have it moved and they remodeled and put in a yard and held services until the new Catholic Church opened a new St. Ann’s on US 50East of Dayton.

Today, HSDV is working to landscape the property, repaint the fence, and arrange the historic displays inside the chapel. Once completed, the building will become another museum featuring the early-day social life of Daytonites. Donations of volunteer work or money are gladly accepted. Please contact our Board of Directors President at president@hsdv.org if interested in helping with this project.
